Rugby fans encouraged to use MyCiTi buses and trains to DHL Stadium on Saturday

The gees is mounting ahead of Saturday, 7 September 2024, when the Springboks and All Blacks will face off in Cape Town for the first time since 2017. The City of Cape Town wants all fans watching the game at the DHL Stadium to avoid running overtime due to traffic and parking woes. Thus, we are offering a free MyCiTi shuttle service from various points in the city. The train service will also be running from all stations into Cape Town at increased intervals between 11:00 and 16:30 and out of the station between 20:00 and 22:00. 

The MyCiTi shuttles will start running at 12 midday, departing from the Civic Centre station; Thibault Square; the CTICC; Century City; UCT; and the Green Point Park, bringing fans to the DHL Stadium. The service will be running frequently throughout the day in both directions, with the last shuttles departing the stations at 21:30.

The City is pleased to announce that in addition to the MyCiTi shuttle service, rugby supporters can opt to travel part of their journey on Saturday by train. The train service will be running from all stations into Cape Town at increased intervals between 11:00 and 16:30 and out of the station between 20:00 and 22:00. It is a convenient 200m walk between the train station and the MyCiTi Civic Centre Station, so our rugby supporters should be well covered at all points of their journey.
